The Ministerio de Salud’s technical regulation RTCR 515:2024 (Executive Decree 44917-S) came into force on June 22, 2025. It opened the sanitary registration process for medicinal cannabis products, including products with THC. Registered products are meant to be sold in pharmacies with a digital prescription.

The Ministry said that sterile dosage forms would not be registrable at this stage (June 23, 2025). Its registration page lists a $500 registration fee and a five-year validity.

On October 30, 2026, Repretel reported that products were still not on pharmacy shelves a year after the regulation, and quoted a pharmacist saying that the laboratory structure and certifications needed to register products were not yet in place. We have not independently confirmed the status of any registration: check the Ministry’s registry.
